Usually, you don't bind it to the mesh but generate the final rig from it. The meta rig is used for the bone layout to match the mesh. I don't know which tutorials you have consulted but I recommend one for animation and game design like Easy Low Poly Character Modeling in Blender 2.9x or Modeling for Animation (series), Grant Abbitt and Royal Skies LLC have a lot of videos related to Blender and Unity. The mesh topology is not ideal for animation.
BASIC BLENDER RIGGING TUTORIAL HOW TO
You can check this with the Face Orientation overlay, and then do a Recalculate Outside or simple Flip as described here: How to make all faces flip to the right/consistent direction? While this is not a basic rigging tutorial (viewers should have a basic knowledge of the Blender interface and the bare minimum of armatures and animation ) there is a basics/primer tutorial that quickly goes through blender rigging and animation features, such as lattices, armatures, weight painting, etc. The mesh is inside out and that causes weighting problems and bad deformations. Remove them in Edit mode, select everything with A, then press M and choose Merge By Distance ( B) It doesn't have to go into a lot of detail just enough for me to understand.Beside the mirror as mention in josh sanfelici's answer, your mesh is has a more few common issues:
Is there some kind of website where I can pay to ask a blender-pro any question about blender in exchange for money? I know that my problems take a long time to explain especially because I want a screen shot or step-by-step walkthrough of how to do something or how to fix something with the reason WHY and just explaining what each tool does. I will buy any plugins or pay a tutor or video service to just explain it to me properly. I honestly just want to know how to make my character perfectly. I don't want someone to do it for me, I want to learn how to do it myself. When the final model is rigged, the underlying body rig is deleted, and the clothing makes up the hull of the model. You can use a skeleton or human base mesh as a starting point and use the grease pencil tools to block out your idea in 3D. From camera and object motion tracking to masking and compositing, you can fix it in post. Push the boundaries of Story Art and 2D concept design, right in Blender’s 3D viewport.
Most of my problems come from not pressing 1 key. Starting in Blender I use PureRef to organize my reference pictures and concept art on a second monitor and start with the basic modeling. Designed for animation, Blender is being used for award-winning shorts and feature films. Rather than waiting for a response and in the mean-time ruining my character more in order to try and work out a solution myself. Yes, posting on these forums is helpful at times but I'd much rather prefer for my problem to be solved as soon as possible. I do best learning with Pictures and words rather than just textbook-words. I've remade/re-edited my model about 25 times now and the joints still are very jagged when they move in VRChat. I have been working on making a model from scratch to make for VRChat expecting it to only take 3 days has now taken now over a week working on it 12 hours a day. Though blender has a Auto-Rigging system called Rigify for bipeds, one must first know. As I'm working on my own model not on whatever they are doing in the tutorial some things just go wrong. In this tutorial you will learn how to build a basic rigging system for a low poly character using Blender. Which to a new blender user, would not make sense. For this tutorial, I'll be using Blender to create a basic rig for my character, The Time Spirit this tutorial will work on any humanoid model though, as long as it has two legs, a chest, arms, hands, neck, and head Other programs can make rigs as well, but for the features I want I feel like Blender is the best choice. I have watched so many YouTube tutorials on this and most don't go into detail or explain at all WHY they are doing something. What is your recommended tutorial for character creation, rigging and weight painting?
